  Anemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough healthy red blood cells. Red blood cells are responsible for carrying oxygen to the body's tissues, so a shortage of these cells can lead to fatigue, weakness, and a variety of other symptoms. T he flu, also known as influenza, is a highly contagious respiratory illness caused by the influenza virus. It can range from a mild to severe illness, and in some cases can even lead to death.  Symptoms include f ever, cough, sore throat, body aches, fatigue, and congestion or runny nose. One of the most important things to know about the flu is that it is preventable through vaccination. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone 6 months and older get a flu vaccine each year.  The flu vaccine is especially important for people who are at high risk of complications from the flu, such as young children, pregnant women, people with chronic medical conditions, and older adults. In addition to getting vaccinated, there are other measures you can take to reduce your risk of getting the flu.
